Richard Hickock and Perry Smith's murder of the Clutter family of Holcomb was chronicled in Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood." The two men are buried two rows in front of a spruce tree in potter's field (all stones are flat). Hickock and Smith were executed at the Kansas State Penitentiary in Lansing in 1965.
