The history of Lansing, the railroad, and the Kansas State Penitentiary are told inside this 1887 Santa Fe depot museum. You'll enjoy the exhibit of prison escape tools and a prisoner's illustrations of penitentiary life. The museum is on the prison grounds, and if you continue east on Kansas you'll drive past the Lansing Correctional Facility. Better yet, sign up in advance with Lansing Historical Society for a tour of the old stone-walled part of the correctional facility.
