The burials here date from between the 1820s and the early 1960s. One flat gray granite stone is inscribed, 'All the souls of African Descent Buried Here.' The grave of Beatrice Payne who died in 1933 shares that stone. Lansing Correctional Facility inmates maintain the cemetery.
