Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area & Carnegie Library

Lawrence, KS | Douglas County

From some perspectives the violent border conflict between Kansas and Missouri led to the Civil War. Freedom's Frontier, at home in a 1904 former Carnegie library (NRHP), bridges the border by offering many viewpoints of freedom's story that occurred in the 41 counties in eastern Kansas and western Missouri.
