Built as a Romanesque style bank in 1888, this splendid building now preserves the fascinating history of Lawrence and Douglas County. Exhibits explore Civil War history, Quantrill's 1863 raid and burning of Lawrence, the story of civil rights from the 1960s through the 1990s, and more. (NRHP)
