Father Kapaun Memorial

Pilsen, KS | Marion County

Cemetery behind St. John Nepomucene Church. At the base of the large cross stands a small memorial stone to Father Kapaun (8 Wonders of Kansas People), who died in 1951 while in captivity. He was originally buried in a Korean POW camp, but his remains returned to Kansas in 2021 and are interred in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Wichita.
