HISTORIC CHURCH

St. John Nepomucene Church

Pilsen, KS | Marion County

Father Emil J. Kapaun (8 Wonders of Kansas People), who has been nominated for sainthood, held his first Mass in this 1915 red-brick and limestone Gothic structure. The exterior is accented with a red-tile roof and copper shingles. The interior was renovated in 2002, and the bas-relief Stations of the Cross and stained-glass windows are breathtaking.
