A 2-mile hiking and biking trail connects the Old City Lake (from U.S. 166, 5 miles north on K-99) and the New City Lake (from U.S. 166, 2 miles north on K-99). The Civilian Conservation Corps built the 1935 lake and WPA funds yielded shelters and picnic tables. The 1965 city lake was constructed to supply the city's water.
