A reconstructed Missouri Pacific depot is a handsome addition to this local museum. Inside the depot, artifacts preserve the area's railroad history, and a Hall of Honor recognizes county police and fire officials and local residents who served in the military. Displays in the main museum provide background about John Brown, the early history of Osawatomie, and the beginning of Osawatomie State Hospital, the first mental health facility in the state.
