The original site of the Samuel Adair cabin, moved to John Brown Memorial Park in 1912 was located here. A large stone marker near the highway memorializes Frederick Brown, son of John, who died near this spot during the Battle of Osawatomie on August 30, 1856.Β This steel replica outline of the original cabin was built to memorialize this site.
