The original home of Baker University, this three-story native stone building was erected in 1857. Today it houses collections of early Kansas, Methodist, and Baker history. The small white frame structure nearby served as an early post office and as a grocery store for travelers on the Santa Fe Trail. Also adjacent is a replica of the Kibbee cabin, a log house where Methodist ministers met to form Baker University. Saturday-Sunday 1-4 p.m. Call ahead. (NRHP)
