National Foundation for Carnival Heritage Center

Kinsley, KS | Edwards County

Between 1904 and the 1980s Kinsley was home to six carnival companies. Housed on the first floor of an old mercantile building, this museum pays tribute to the area's carnival heritage with its wonderful collection of old broadsides, artifacts from early carnival games, and historic photographs. Of primary focus is the stunning collection of carved carousel animals by nationally known animal sculptor Bruce White, a former resident of Coldwater. This museum isn't fancy, but you won't find content of this sort anywhere else in the state! It's a great one-of-a-kinder.
