Historic Baseball Stadium

Kinsley, KS | Edwards County

Baseball has been a part of this town's history since the Kinsley Stars, and the Red Stockings baseball teams took the field beginning in 1877. Baseball teams still play at the 1934 wood and stone stadium at South Park. The stadium, a federal Civil Works Administration project, replaced the town's first baseball stands, built in 1904, after they burned down. The roof has been replaced with metal, but the benches are still red-and-white-painted wood, representing the high school colors and the colors of the original two baseball teams.
