The building contains no name or sign to indicate it is the courthouse, but there's no mistaking that this grand structure is the seat of county government. Tall white columns are the focal point of this 1923 building. A closer look at the exterior reveals that the lighter colored bricks form a repeating diamond pattern within the darker red bricks. Remnants of the original courthouse, including a bas-relief limestone sculpture reading '1888' and a limestone slab step are on the southwest corner of the courthouse square.
