Angell Plow Outdoor Mural

Plains, KS | Meade County

This long 1980 Stan Herd mural depicts the use of the Angell one-way disc plow. Considered an important contribution to agriculture, this implement was invented by local wheat farmer Charlie Angell during the 1920s. His invention, which was especially suited to farming on the semi-arid plains, was patented and widely used from the 1930s to the 1960s.
