Lustron homes, an efficient post-WWII invention, were made from prefabricated steel, inside and out. Garden City comprises eight such homes. See them at 407 E. Laurel; 405 N. 4th.; 1016 N. 4th.; 310 Hudson.; 312 Hudson.; 211 N. 11th.; 901 N. 11th. (with a detached Lustron garage); and 1203 N. 9th.
