MEMORIAL

Liberty Garden

Just east of the Hoover Pavilion in Wright Park is a memorial commemorating 9-11. A four-foot section of steel from the Twin Towers is placed under a U.S. flag and between replicas of the towers. Two additions that now complete the memorial are a piece of Indiana Limestone, once part of the Pentagon facade, and a piece of Pennsylvania sandstone from the hemlock grove next to the crash site of United Flight 93.
