COURTHOUSE

Leavenworth County Courthouse

Leavenworth, KS | Leavenworth County

The 1913 limestone courthouse features a central rotunda stained-glass dome and scagliola columns inside. Colorful murals by artists Ernst Ulmer (Bleeding Kansas) and Michael Young (Struggle for Freedom) were added in 2006. Outside, a tall veterans memorial 'To the memory of our boys who made the supreme sacrifice in the World War' and a WWI charging doughboy statue grace the grounds of this Modern Eclecticism structure.Β  (NRHP)
