Kansas Storytelling Festival

Since 1993, Downs has been home to the Kansas Storytelling Festival held the last weekend of April. It features professional storytellers from throughout the United Stats. Former Kansas Governor Bill Graves officially recognized Downs in 1998 as "The Storytelling Capital of Kansas."
