Back when traveling long distances by automobile was a new thing, service stations, like this 1923 Tudor Revival station, popped up across the country. This little structure was a "Texaco Registered Restroom" station, a designation signaling that the bathrooms were clean, and which also attracted a wider clientele enabling petroleum companies to sell products other than petroleum. The station, beautifully restored and awaiting your admiration, is owned by the Kearny County Historical Society and is open during special events. (NRHP)
