The historical marker at this roadside park explains that a site near here (18 miles southeast) is the Geodetic Center of North America. As the sign reads, 'What Greenwich is to the longitude of the world, a Kansas pasture is to the lines and boundaries of this continent.' Below the sign an inscribed granite marker incorporates a bronze replica of the geodetic marker.
