This spot on the Arkansas River once hosted thousands of wagons traveling on the Santa Fe Trail. Today the 110-acre park is home to the city's zoo, education center, museum, and pool. A granite Santa Fe Trail marker placed by the DAR is on the park's north side along Maple.
