Lindsborg Old Mill & Swedish Heritage Museum

Lindsborg, KS | McPherson County

The standout feature is the Smoky Valley Roller Mill (NRHP), a grand three-story brick structure with polished wood chutes, belts, levers, wheels, augers, sifters, and binsβ€”the only things missing are the noise and grain dust flying. Built in 1898, it is the best-restored mill in the state and rests on its original site along the Smoky Hill River. Within the museum complex the Swedish Pavilion (NRHP), prefabricated in Sweden as a Swedish exhibit building for the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, serves as the anchor for a collection of early settlement buildings. Museum exhibits relate the county history including the impact of the Swedish and Mennonite immigrants on local culture.
