The world's largest ball of sisal twine is found downtown under a canopy. Started in 1953 on a farm, the ball's twine is now more than 1,531 miles in length, more than 45 feet in circumference, and weighs over 10 tons! Farmer Frank Stoeber started this ball in an effort to save twine scraps, and caretaker Linda Clover keeps it growing. If she sees you at the ball she'll drive over with a trunk full of twine so you can add to the legendary ball.  (8 Wonders of Kansas Customs)
