In 1890 Mayor Lucy Sweet Sullivan and an all-woman city council were tired of their skirts getting dirty on the path to the depot. To solve the problem a Women's Bridge was constructed. It was just one of the town clean-up projects initiated by the female council. From West Park, take the sidewalk to view the stone single-arch bridge from under the road. A plaque tells more of this intriguing history.
