Birds in flight by the thousands are best seen in the spring and fall months along this 77-mile byway connecting two of the world's most significant natural wetlands--Quivira National Wildlife Refuge and Cheyenne Bottoms. Depending on the time of day and season you might witness thousands of shorebirds, waterfowl, and even spy a few endangered whooping cranes. This area is a natural wonderland for photographers, hikers, and bikers. Small towns along the route offer their own versions of rural culture to help make this an adventurous experience.
