Along the river behind the Westar Energy plant, life-sized bronze statues portray the camaraderie of an American and a Vietnamese soldier. The monument and large plaque are from the Vietnamese American community of Wichita in "memory and honor of American, Vietnamese and Allied soldiers who fought to resist the North Vietnamese Communist aggression." The plaque provides a moving history of the South Vietnamese struggles.
