Stauth Memorial Museum

Montezuma, KS | Gray County

Look for the copper roof! This facility features the worldwide travel adventures of Montezuma residents Claude and Donalda Stauth. Claude played in the Dodge City Cowboy Band, thus an entire museum section is devoted to the musical instruments that he collected as he traveled. In addition to its quality travel exhibits, the museum also features the Wall Western Collection (a permanent exhibit of Frederic Remington miniature bronzes) and the Fry Wildlife Collection. When the Stauths bequeathed their estate for the museum they stipulated that it remain free to the public and that the ladies bridge club, of which Donalda was a member, would always be welcome to meet here. The ladies still play here twice a month. Closed during the noon hour from 12-1 p.m.
