Built as a Catholic mission for Irish Settlers and American Indians, the simple 1861 stone building was destroyed by a tornado in 2008. Using stones from the old mission, four corner pillars were reconstructed to their original dimensions and now anchor this open-air structure/memorial. Note the bend in the handrails, a result of the tornado. (NRHP)
