HISTORIC CHURCH

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church

This double-tower church built in 1904 is thought to be the first church in the United States constructed with flying buttresses and a ceiling made entirely from stone. The exquisite frescos in the nave were painted by renowned church artist Gonippo Raggi and his brother Palamedo. (NRHP)
