Stone buildings, wall remnants, and the wooded areas along the creek are enchanting. At Alma, go 1¼ miles south on K-99, 11½ miles generally east on Skyline (mostly gravel), then 10½ miles northerly on Snokomo (mostly gravel) into Paxico. Two stone schools are about the only structures that will distract you from the incredible Flint Hills vistas as you go north.
