The former 1885 limestone Ness City Opera House has found new life as Sheepdog Brewing Company, a veteran-owned small-town meadery. After years of deterioration, the stately building once again welcomes visitors beneath its high ceilings and historic woodwork.
A meadery specializes in mead— an alcoholic beverage fermented from honey, water, and yeast, often infused with fruits, spices, or hops for distinctive flavors. The brewery’s name honors the “sheepdogs” of society—those who protect, serve, and stand watch.
Guests can enjoy charcuterie boards, and outside food from local caterers is available at times.
