HISTORIC DISTRICT

Pretty Little City

Westwood Hills, KS | Johnson County

The city entrance sign claims it's 'The Most Beautiful Little City in Kansas,' and who can argue? The J.C. Nichols Company platted the Westwood Hills subdivision in 1923, and in 1949 it became an incorporated city. It was the first subdivision that Nichols developed in Kansas using his residential design concepts. The Westwood Hill Historic District (NRHP) is bounded by State Line, Rainbow, 48th Terrace, and 50th Terrace.
