Le Mans Ct. has a surprise at the end of the cul-de-sac. Here you'll find a memorial and a large granite stone marking the grave of Larwin (1935-1955), the only Kansas horse to win the Kentucky Derby (1938). A wrought iron fence surrounds the small manicured garden where Lawrin and his sire, Insco, are buried side by side. Owned by Herbert Woolf, Lawrin is laid to rest on the site of Woolford Farms, which today is a residential area of Prairie Village.
