Prairie View Dutch Heritage

Prairie View, KS | Phillips County

Around town are reminders of the Holland immigrants who came to Kansas in 1879. Many who still live in this small community have roots to Holland and several display Dutch mementos outside their homes. As the sign beside the tiny Dutch windmill at the city limits reads, you are Welkom in Prairie View. Although now closed, the 1907 Reformed Church is another tribute to the Dutch heritage.
