HISTORIC OPERA HOUSE

Potter's Opera House

Coolidge, KS | Hamilton County

Town blacksmith Garner T. Potter built this native limestone opera house during 1886. It served many purposes including a church and a Masonic lodge and even hosted masquerade balls. Although the old opera house is now abandoned, the determined community has plans to renovate it. (RHKP)
