HISTORIC FARMSTEAD

Pioneer Bluffs

Matfield Green, KS | Chase County

Thanks to the Pioneer Bluffs Foundation you can tour this Flint Hills ranch homesteaded by Charles Rogler in 1859. Though the buildings aren't open, interpretive signage on the buildings make self-guided tours possible to the 1872 barn, the 1916 granary, the 1915 main barn, the windmill, and the garden. Guided tours of the 1908 Rogler family home also are available with an appointment. The Pioneer Bluffs Foundation does a tremendous job preserving and restoring this historic ranch and sharing its connection to this tallgrass country.Β  (NRHP)
