You can identify this building by its 40-foot-tall loft (in front of the shorter one-story parachute packing building). The facility was used to dry, inspect, clean, and reassemble the parachutes of the B-29 crews that trained here during WWII. The platoon that served in this building consisted of seven women, two who were members of the Women's Army Corps, and a male sergeant. This parachute tower is one of two remaining in Kansas.
