WILDLIFE REFUGE

Marais Des Cygnes National Wildlife Refuge

Trading Post, KS | Linn County

Calling all bird watchers! This 15,000-acre wetlands wildlife habitat is dedicated to the management of waterfowl, wetlands, and bottomland hardwood forest. The refuge is named for the trumpeter swan (cygne), which historically was common in the Midwest and thought to have stopped at these wetlands during fall and spring migrations.
