At a roadside pullover an illustrated sign notes the location of Lost Spring (NRHP), a watering hole where travelers on the Santa Fe Trail stopped from 1821 to 1866. In 1859 Lost Spring Station, a hotel and tavern, was established. Nearby is a stone marker placed by the Old Settlers of Marion County in 1908.
