People have been finding their way to this kind-of-hard-to-get-to tavern since 1947, and then hoping they find an open chair. Opened as C.W. Porubsky Grocery and Meats, they were famous for very hot chili, hot pickles, and the cold plate piled on a plastic plate. Many of the same traditions are kept alive with new ownership but there are also some new items that pop up on the menu. But always, the chili (in season) is hot and the beer is cold.
