PARK

Kingman Riverside Park

Kingman, KS | Kingman County

What a lovely park. The drive around it follows the quarter-mile oval horse race track used in the early 1900s. Enjoy the South Fork Ninnescah River and the tall cottonwoods along a mile sidewalk trail in the park. Old-fashioned street lamps guide you during the late evening, and several walking bridges cross the river; one leads to an Outdoor Wildlife Learning Sites (OWLS) site with a butterfly and hummingbird garden, native grass and flower garden, and a nature trail. Bring your fishing pole and try your luck at Hoover Pond, a 1934 WPA project.
