Historic Baseball Game

Blue Rapids, KS | Marshall County

Metal silhouettes of baseball players flank a sign that recounts the story of a historic game played here between barnstorming major leaguers in October 1913. Several participants later became Hall of Famers: Christy Mathewson, Jim Thorpe, and John McGraw. Earl Woods, father of golfer Tiger Woods, played for a Blue Rapids team here in the 1950s.
