A glebe is a small tract of land traditionally given to English clergy to farm and help provide a living for the family. This 15-acre glebe is across the road to the east from St. John Cemetery and is the only glebe remaining west of the Mississippi. The land is leased to a local farmer but is still owned by the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas. St. John Episcopal Church originally was located here (now at 503 Birch St. in Wakefield).
