The 1876 St. John church originally stood west of Wakefield on K-82. In 1930 it was moved into town and attached to the larger St. George church, built in 1886. The exquisite wood interior of St. George is unusual in that each individual piece for the wall was cut on a pump-treadle jigsaw (by Fred Dodson) before putting it into place. To see inside these churches, contact the Wakefield Museum.
