You'll find the bronze bust of the town's namesake, General Alfred Pleasonton, in the small, well landscaped General Pleasonton Park. The plaque on the bust's base provides a brief timeline of his service in the military, including leading the charge of Union troops at the 1864 Battle of Mine Creek. Five years later, the town of Pleasanton (spelled differently from the general's name) was established.
