HISTORIC SCHOOL

Fort Hays State University

Hays, KS | Ellis County

Founded in 1902 on the grounds of an abandoned frontier military post, this campus features many stone structures, including an 1874 schoolhouse, a 1934 pedestrian bridge, and the 1937 WPA Lewis Field football stadium. Art enthusiasts will want to stop at the Moss-Thorns Gallery of Art in Rarick Hall. Also worth noting are the many outdoor sculptures throughout the campus.
