One of WaKeeney's most unique landmarks, a retired U.S. Navy F-14 Tomcat, was transported from Ohio and assembled by local volunteers in 2006. The jet appeared in the original Top Gun and just finished undergoing restoration with help from veterans, including a former Top Gun instructor who once flew this very aircraft. Next to the F-14 is an Iwo Jima Memorial and across the street at Rosie's Bar & Grill are displays of the Tomcat and Top Gun.
