More than 400 years ago, the Wichita people lived in a “Great Settlement” known as Etzanoa. Beginning in 2013, archaeologists—through years of careful and dedicated work—began rediscovering and uncovering its story. Today, you’re invited to explore guided tours of this once-thriving city and step into immersive exhibits that bring its history to life. Artifacts that help illuminate daily life in Etzanoa range from stone tools to animal bones and pottery.
