MARSH ARCH RAINBOW BRIDGE

Dewlen-Spohnhauer Bridge

Independence, KS | Montgomery County

You'll find the four-arch Verdigris River rainbow bridge, designed by J.B. Marsh, on Old U.S. 160, now a side road. Completed in 1928, it is formally known as the Dewlen-Spohnhauer Bridge, named for two area servicemen who died overseas during WWI. (NRHP)
